    কাহিনীটিতে প্রতিবাদ এবং হতাশার একটি সংমিশ্রণ রয়েছে। সেটি পাঠককে বইটির পাতা উল্টাতে বাধ্য করে। আর এই প্রতিবাদ ও হতাশার ছবিটি প্রকাশ পেয়েছে মাস্টারমশাই-এর চরিত্রটির মাধ্যমে। ফুটপাতে বসে থাকা সেই কবির ব্যক্তিত্বটিও উল্লেখের দাবি রাখে।

    গল্পটি প্রতিপত্তিশালীদের ক্ষমতার অপব্যবহারের vs দুর্বলদের ক্ষমতার ব্যঙ্গার্থক তুলনাটি করে থাকে। আর যা প্রকাশ করে সেটি হল আধুনিক মানুষের ইন্টারনেটের এই যুগে নির্দয় ও অমানবিকতার একটি সুস্পষ্ট চিত্র। ক্লাস নাইনে পড়া একটি মেয়ের ধর্ষণকে কেন্দ্র করে গল্পটি লেখা হলেও, একটি স্কুলের সরকারীকরণের জন্য একজন মাস্টারমশায়ের আপ্রাণ চেষ্টাও গল্পটির অন্যতম পটভূমি। সঙ্গে স্থানীয় নেতার চরিত্রটি যেমন আমাদের রাজনৈতিক বা সরকারতন্ত্রের একটি নেতিবাচক ছবি তুলে ধরে, তেমনি “কোহিনূরের” পিতা না হয়েও মাস্টারমশাইয়ের করে যাওয়া আন্দোলনটি এক ভিন্ন মানসিকতার বার্তাবাহী।

    একটি স্পর্শকাতর বিষয় নিয়ে লেখা হলেও সেটি অনুভূতির সপ্তমে পৌঁছাতে পারেনি বলে “অসাধারণ” বলতে পারছি না, আবার গল্পটি নিরাশও করে না। এর অন্যতম কারণ বলে আমার যা মনে হয়, সেটি হল দুটি ভিন্ন পটভূমির উপস্থিতি।
