India’s independence was preceded by partition through negotiations. Partition was the grimmest episode recorded in Indian history. The experience of the past has not been able to fashion our present perhaps in a rational way. The communal politics of both Congress and the Muslim League was the cause of all evils. The British only took the advantage to divide India. After independence Nehru’s dynasty ruled India for decades and Kashmir became an ever lasting battle field, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Azad Kashmir are still disputed areas. India had to face war with China and at the same time pursue peace with Pakistan. Cross border terrorism makes India bleeds at times. Modiji’s government and Hindutva magic campaign strategy made him to return to power for the third time. But privatisation and job insecurity has put many to question about its stability. Modiji’s era seems therefore highly controversial. From the very beginning corruption in Indian politics paved the uncertain future of our country. Most politician’s only aim is to fish out votes by exploiting the sentiments of common people. But how long will it continue time can only say.
